The Molí d’Alcanó, belonging to the Fruits de Ponent Cooperative Group, and the Association Against Cancer in Lleida have presented this afternoon a solidarity bottle of extra virgin olive oil L’Or de Ponent. This is an action that aims to raise funds for the fight against breast cancer. Therefore, one euro from each unit sold, which costs € 3.90, will be used entirely for this purpose.During the presentation, which included the interventions of the president of Fruits de Ponent, Sebastià Escarp, the general director of the group, Josep Presseguer, the president of the Association Against Cancer in Lleida, Eduardo Serrano, and the manager of this entity, Eva Figuera, has valued this solidarity and support action after these almost two complicated years due to Covid-19.
Escarp explained that “for the Cooperative Group this type of collaboration gives meaning to everything we do, we are proud of it and we believe that a product as healthy as extra virgin olive oil from the PDO Les Garrigues is ideal for this action ”. Presseguer, in the same vein, encouraged everyone to join this initiative and stressed that “a small action like this makes us big inside.”
For his part, Serrano said that they are very grateful that “initiatives such as these make it possible to give visibility to the fight against cancer”. In this sense, Figuera stressed that “this project comes at a time that has been very difficult for the association.” “Initiatives like these give us hope and desire to continue,” said the manager of the Association Against Cancer in Lleida.
The bottle can be found from this Saturday in the fruit shops of Fruits de Ponent d’Alcanó, Alcarràs and Ponts, in BO de Shalom, in Vinicia de Lleida, at the headquarters of the Association Against Cancer in Lleida and the website of L’Or de Ponent www.ordeponent.com. A total of 3,000 solidarity bottles of 500 ml of extra virgin olive oil from L’Or de Ponent will be produced for this action.
