The artist from Lleida, Lily Brick, has captured the DNA of the Fruits de Ponent Cooperative Group in three of her creations.
The three paintings are exhibited in the Auditorium room of the Cooperative Group headquarters and respond to a request that the management made to Lily Brick to reflect the cooperative values of Fruits de Ponent through her art.
The artist explained that, despite being specialized in large format works, lately she is also working on smaller creations, as is the case with these three paintings that, for her, have been a great challenge and motivation, because he considers that “cooperation is essential in today’s world and the countryside is an element that regularly inspires me”.
Thus, in her creations she has wanted to convey the path of effort that the Cooperatiu Group drew from its beginnings, with a painting dedicated to the first lands that she bought in Alcarràs, reproducing her particular forms; another painting that reflects the cooperative building, whose first roof from which the group was able to work; and a third with the people who have been behind it all, especially the 43 men who started it but surrounded by the women who increasingly play a more fundamental role in the group and who are the future of Fruits de Ponent.
The land, the Cooperative and the people are, therefore, the protagonists of these three paintings with which Lily Brick has turned the spirit of the Fruits de Ponent Cooperative Group into art.
