Participates in a project to analyze the possibilities of artificial intelligence applied to the development of renewable energy in agriculture
Fruits de Ponent, a leading cooperative in the agri-food sector, has participated in the European project “Innovation in Agrovoltaic AI,” which aims to investigate the potential applications of artificial intelligence in the agrovoltaic field. The conclusions of the study will help determine if, in the future, Fruits de Ponent wants to implement any solutions in this area.
As a result of this analysis, a high-impact project has been identified: a scenario simulator for agrovoltaic installations. This tool would serve — if developed in the future — to assess the viability of an installation with solar panels in the field and the potential consequences it could have, such as improving fruit production, stabilizing temperatures, and enhancing irrigation efficiency. In this regard, the ‘simulator’ allows the viability of an investment in this field to be evaluated.
With this research project, Fruits de Ponent reaffirms its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the modernization of the agricultural sector by investigating innovative solutions that optimize resource use and reduce investment risks.
