The Fruits de Ponent Cooperative Group received yesterday, from the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Affairs, the diploma which accredits, yet another year, its active participation in and commitment to the Programme of Voluntary Agreements to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions, promoted by the Government of Catalonia.
Ever since joining the programme in 2012, Fruits de Ponent has demonstrated a firm commitment to protecting the environment and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Through the annual presentation of data and the calculation of emissions using diverse factors of conversion, the organisation has managed to significantly reduce its carbon footprint.
The year 2021-2022, Fruits de Ponent achieved a notable reduction in its CO2 emissions, reaching only 511,241 kg of CO2, in comparison with the 1,100 tonnes of CO2 emitted in 2015. These results reflect the group’s ongoing commitment to implementing efficient and sustainable measures.
The diploma awarded is a testimony to the effort and dedication of the Fruits de Ponent Cooperative Group to fight climate change and promote responsible business practices. This distinction highlights the organisation’s leadership in reducing emissions and its contribution to building a more sustainable future.
Fruits de Ponent would like to thank the Government of Catalonia and all the members and collaborators of the Programme of Voluntary Agreements for Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions for providing the support and necessary tools to accomplish this important task. We will continue to work relentlessly to further reduce our emissions and set an example in the business sector for the fight against climate change.
