‘From Alcarràs, Land of inspiration’ is the motto under which the Fruits de Ponent Cooperative Group has landed at the Fruit Logistica fair in Berlin, with the aim of reinforcing the name of Alcarràs on the map international market for fresh fruit, following the momentum and strength generated by Carla Simón’s award-winning film at the Berlinale.
In this sense, and also as a nod to the location of the group’s headquarters, Fruits de Ponent will put a small sticker on the fruits and has also created an individual ‘packaging’ to be able to consume the pieces anywhere comfortably, in both cases with the motto ‘From Alcarràs, Land of inspiration’. In fact, this inspiring phrase will also shine this summer on the boxes of fruit that are distributed from the headquarters to many countries around the world.
Fruit Logistica is being held from today until April 7 and is an essential meeting point for the sector and a global platform for new ideas, impulses and solutions, which in this edition brings together more than 3,300 exhibitors -most of them foreigners- from nearly a hundred countries and more than 72,000 professional visitors seeking to develop their full business potential in the international market.
Fruits de Ponent has traveled to Berlin with a delegation headed by the president, Benjamí Ibars, and by the CEO, Josep Presseguer, and with representatives from different departments of the Grup Cooperatiu.
In addition to the connection with Alcarràs, Fruits de Ponent intends to give visibility to the products of the Cooperative Group and the quality guarantee that supports them, and in this sense, one of the objectives of the delegation will be to present the extensive Mediterranean Foods catalogue.
The presence of Fruits de Ponent at Fruit Logistica also has other axes that the delegation present in Berlin will try to influence. Thus, the group’s management model has been put on the table, based on sustainability and the commitment to the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
It also seeks to show the particular idiosyncrasy that derives from the fact of being a cooperative group, with values based on internal democracy, the participation of partners in strategic decision-making, transparency in management and a spirit of collaboration with the environment, as well as a business ethic with a marked DNA of corporate social responsibility.
In short, Fruits de Ponent has settled in Fruit Logistica with the aim of sharing knowledge and new challenges, participating in the global agri-food transformation and showing its new product catalogues, but also its values, in an event that has the great incentive of which, after the toughest phase of the pandemic, will allow us to regain contact with customers at an international level and resume ties and connections with other markets.
