KYLATT, a special selection of extra virgin olive oil from the Alcánó Mill Group of the Fruits de Ponent Group, has been awarded the gold medal at the Berlin Global Olive Oil Awards (Berlin GOOA) for its quality. An international competition in which oils from all over the world take part and which has a jury made up of gastronomic experts and tasters with the aim of giving visibility and increasing brand awareness of extra virgin olive oils.
This award recognizes the Mill’s commitment to excellence and adds to the two international awards received in the last two years: the Gourmet Gold Medal for the Association for the Valuation of Agricultural Products (AVPA) 2020, from Paris, and the bronze medal at the London International Olive Oil Competitions 2021. Locally, it has also received an award for the best green fruit at the Les Borges Oil Fair in 2020 and for the best design, in 2021.
It is an oil made from Arbequina olives from specially selected Alcanó fields and chosen from the best tastings, through a careful procedure in order to preserve the different organoleptic virtues. The Molí d’Alcanó, located in this town of Segrià and which belongs to the Grup Cooperatiu Fruits de Ponent, has a network of production partners and is part of the Les Garrigues Protected Designation of Origin.
