The second day of activity of the Fruits de Ponent Cooperative Group at Fruit Logistica had a marked institutional character with different visits, including the Generalitat de Catalunya delegation, and that of the current president of the Port Authority from Barcelona.
The Generalitat delegation was made up of Carmel Mòdol, Food Secretary of the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda; Ramon Sentmartí, director of Prodeca (Promoter of Catalan foods) of this department; Rosalba Arrufat, adviser to Prodeca; and Marie Krapetz, delegate of the Government of Catalonia in Germany.
During the meeting, Fruits de Ponent made known, through the mouth of its president, Benjamín Ibars, and the CEO, Josep Presseguer, its concern about the latest frosts suffered by the field and the importance of implementing, as quickly as possible, aid for those affected.
Aside from this topic, throughout the different meetings a very positive assessment has been made of the work and the contacts that are being established in Berlin, and that are key to ensuring the presence in the markets of the whole world in the next campaign, an aspect that is absolutely fundamental.
This second day has been, therefore, a very intense activity in terms of visits and meetings with exhibitors and clients, recovering direct contact that, as a result of the pandemic, had not been possible in the last two years.
The motto ‘From Alcarràs, Land of inspiration’ (From Alcarràs, Land of inspiration) has become, one more day, the banner under which the Fruits de Ponent Cooperative Group has made its voice heard in Berlin in which, without Undoubtedly, it is one of the most important trade fair events in the world in the fresh fruit sector. Fruit Logistica will close its doors this Thursday after three days of activity.
